Bathtub Safety Rail

As an assisting physiotherapist myself, I was looking for a bathtub grab bar that must have certain qualities. It must be built with quality in mind. There are some bathtub grab bars that look good and that is the only thing about them that stands out. Aesthetics should come as an addition and not the main or strongest point of these tools that need to be made with high quality specifications.

Bathtub Grab Bar – A Primary Safety Device

They are primarily a tool for safety and that should not be sacrificed for any thing. I have seen cases of grab bars that had caused bathroom accidents all because they were not all they were thought to be. It is not that I don't fancy aesthetics; it was what I also looked out for when placing an order for one for my grand mum. But I must admit here that it was really at the bottom of my check list in terms of priority.

It must have good grip. Nothing must go wrong with grandma. The grip has to be strong so that it won't slip when held. Slippery rails just won't do because bathroom accidents could be very unpleasant. This one has a very good grip especially when its wet and it didn't look flimsy. It is not that grandma is a heavy weight, but some rails don't really give you the confidence to hold them because they look like something that will break under pressure.

Bathtub Grab Bars Need To Be Strong

But these bathtub grab bars weigh about seven pounds and does not have a good grip but is more or less plug and play. That is, clamping it to the side of the bathtub is as easy as inserting it and the clamp holds. Moreover you can slide it left or right of the bathtub and this mobility gives it added advantage as long as you make sure that I hold properly. It is strong enough to take some weight and that's just how I like it. The bathtub grab bar comes with rubber pads that protect the walls of the bathroom. The tightening device is deliberately designed to be oversize so that it can fit any bathtub.

Bathtub Grab Bar – Need One?

As for the cost, I saved thirty seven percent getting it from Amazon and there are more flimsy rails that are more expensive. I do not agree with some who say that it is too expensive as such because I just don't see where that comes from. There are those who also said that it not as sturdy as it looks. I haven't gotten any negative response from Grandma as far as that goes and I don't really think that such is the case with this product.

An ideal bathtub grab bar has to be strong enough to help hold up the person that is leaning on it. This is the primary reason why I chose this particular bathtub rail and I would like to recommend it to others. I did try it out before helping grandma to install it and I don't believe what some said about it not being able to hold. This is a bathtub grab bar that will do the job and do it well.
